GBICS · UAE supply planning
Local Stock Programme for Optical Networking in the UAE
Plan the right parts around your next order, rollout or replacement requirement.
Discuss local availability for SFP transceivers, QSFP optical modules, DAC/AOC cables and fibre assemblies with GBICS. Share your immediate needs and forecast demand to review suitable products, quantities and supply options for projects in Dubai and across the UAE.
Exact part-number availability and any reservation or replenishment arrangement require confirmation.
The right quantity.
A confirmed supply plan.
Separate what you need now from what you expect next
Immediate requirements
Request available quantities for a specific part number and coding variant. Confirm dispatch readiness and destination delivery timing.
Project demand
Share your BOQ and deployment stages. Identify the quantities needed at each milestone and ask for a realistic supply proposal.
Recurring requirements
Provide usage estimates and review frequency. Discuss whether a replenishment or allocation arrangement is available for your business.
For procurement and network operations
Local supply planning for customer projects and operational spares
Available inventory is most useful when it matches your installed equipment. Build your requirement around approved part numbers and compatibility details, then discuss stock and delivery with the GBICS team.
Resellers and systems integrators
Plan SFP transceivers in Dubai and optical modules in the UAE around customer orders, tenders and site rollouts. Keep confirmed demand separate from pipeline estimates.
Managed service providers
Identify replacement optics and cable assemblies across supported customer environments. Record which spare is suitable for which host and software version.
Enterprise and data centre teams
Discuss approved spares, expansion quantities and maintenance windows. Include critical link requirements and any restrictions on substitutions.
Standardise the specification before the stock list
Two modules with the same speed can use different optical standards, fibre or connectors. Keep the original part number, agreed equivalent and host compatibility record together so purchasing decisions remain traceable.
Stock-planning matrix
Use this matrix to prepare an enquiry and distinguish planning inputs from confirmed supply. It describes review categories, not live stock levels or guaranteed programme benefits.
| Scenario | Information to provide | Confirmation to request |
|---|---|---|
| Immediate order | Exact SKU, coding, quantity and delivery location | Available quantity, price, order readiness and delivery estimate |
| Phased project | BOQ, site schedule and quantities by date | Supply dates, split delivery options and any purchasing conditions |
| Operational spares | Installed hosts, approved replacements and desired spare quantities | Compatibility, product availability and replenishment lead time |
| Recurring demand | Expected consumption, forecast period and order frequency | Feasible supply arrangement, review frequency and applicable obligations |
| Reservation request | Products, quantities and required holding period | Whether reservation is offered, its duration and release conditions |
| Alternative product | Original part number and mandatory technical requirements | Proposed equivalent and approval before substitution |
Availability, allocation and replenishment are different
Availability
A statement of what can be supplied at the time of review. Ask whether the full requested quantity is available.
Allocation
A specific reservation, only where agreed. Ask what is held, for how long and under which commercial conditions.
Replenishment
The expected supply of further units. Confirm the lead time and review assumptions when quantities or supplier conditions change.
A catalogue listing or demand forecast should not be treated as proof of a stock reservation. Obtain confirmation of any arrangement you intend to rely on.
Technical reference
Select the correct optical module for your stock plan
These representative Ethernet interfaces illustrate why a stock request should identify more than speed. This table is not a list of currently stocked products.
| Form factor / standard | Data rate | Maximum listed reach | Fibre | Wavelength | Connector | Compatibility checks |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| SFP+ / 10GBASE-LR | 10G | 10 km | SMF | 1310 nm | Duplex LC | Host and LR endpoint |
| SFP28 / 25GBASE-SR | 25G | 70 m OM3 / 100 m OM4 | MMF | 850 nm | Duplex LC | 25G host and FEC configuration |
| QSFP+ / 40GBASE-SR4 | 40G | 100 m OM3 / 150 m OM4 | MMF | 850 nm | MPO-12 | Port support and lane mapping |
| QSFP28 / 100GBASE-LR4 | 100G | 10 km | SMF | 4 LAN-WDM channels near 1310 nm | Duplex LC | Host and LR4 interoperability |
SMF = single-mode fibre; MMF = multimode fibre. Wavelength values are nominal. Confirm exact product specifications, channel loss and host support before ordering.
Coding and host support
Provide the switch, router or adapter model, software version and port mode. OEM coding alone does not establish compatibility.
Cable variants
For DAC or AOC, specify length, end types, protocol and both endpoint models. Each variant can have different availability.
Fibre assemblies
For LC or MPO/MTP cabling, identify fibre grade, length, connectors, polish, gender and polarity. Record any breakout mapping.
Review alternatives against the complete requirement
A different reach label or matching connector is not enough to approve a substitution. Check the optical standard, receive power limits, electrical interface, operating temperature and required diagnostics. Ask GBICS to document proposed alternatives for technical approval.
Prepare a forecast that procurement can use
- Build the product list. Record exact part numbers, coding and compatibility requirements.
- Separate demand categories. Distinguish approved orders, operational spares and estimated future demand.
- Attach dates and destinations. Map quantities to project stages or expected consumption periods.
- Discuss a feasible supply plan. Confirm available stock, lead times and any allocation terms with GBICS.
- Review changes. Update the plan when customer schedules, host platforms or quantities change.
Specify which figures are estimates. Agree any purchasing commitments, order frequency or stock-holding conditions separately in writing.
Confirm dispatch and delivery separately
GBICS advertises UAE stock, same-day dispatch and lifetime warranty. For each order, ask the team to confirm exact availability, order readiness, the applicable cutoff and warranty terms.
Dispatch is not the same as arrival. Provide the delivery location in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah or elsewhere in the UAE and the date the equipment must be on site. Regional shipments need their own destination-specific delivery confirmation.
Check current stock availabilityWhat to include in your stock programme enquiry

Local Stock Programme FAQs
What is the GBICS Local Stock Programme?
It is a starting point for discussing local product availability and recurring supply requirements with GBICS. Share the products, quantities and timing you need. Any reserved inventory, replenishment or scheduled supply arrangement requires written confirmation.
Are all optical modules and cables held in UAE stock?
Do not assume every product or variant is stocked. Availability depends on the exact part number, vendor coding, cable length and quantity. Ask GBICS to confirm the items available for your order and the lead time for any balance.
Does same-day dispatch mean same-day delivery?
No. Dispatch is the handover of an order for transport; delivery is its arrival at the destination. Confirm stock, order readiness, applicable cutoff and destination delivery estimate before relying on a date.
Can I reserve stock for a future project?
You can request a reservation, but it is not automatic. Ask GBICS to confirm whether it is available and document the products, quantities, reservation period, payment requirements and release conditions.
Does submitting a forecast create a purchase commitment?
This page does not establish a purchase commitment or reservation from a forecast. Identify whether your figures are estimates or firm requirements, and agree any purchasing obligations separately in writing.
Can I request regular deliveries or replenishment?
Include your expected usage, preferred order frequency and required delivery dates in your enquiry. GBICS must confirm whether the proposed arrangement is feasible, along with lead times, quantities, pricing and any obligations.
Can an available alternative replace my usual transceiver?
Only after checking the exact host model, software, port mode, optical standard, fibre and channel requirements. Vendor coding or a matching speed label alone does not establish compatibility. Approve any proposed substitution before ordering.
How do I request a stock-planning quote?
Email store@gbics.ae with part numbers, coding requirements, quantities, forecast period, delivery location and target dates. Include host details and a BOQ where available, and distinguish urgent requirements from planned future demand.
