Custom Networking Solutions in the UAE

Turn your connectivity requirements into a clear, compatible bill of materials.

Specify optical modules, cable assemblies and data centre cabling around your equipment, rack layout and deployment plan. GBICS helps buyers and network engineers review SFP, QSFP, MPO/MTP and DAC/AOC requirements for projects in Dubai and across the UAE.

Make complex requirements easier to procure

One documented specification

Bring together endpoint models, link distances, cable details and quantities so technical and purchasing teams review the same requirement.

Options assessed for feasibility

Request suitable lengths, coding, connector combinations and identification details. Confirm available configurations and any manufacturing constraints in the quote.

A practical delivery plan

Align approved part numbers, samples where required, spare quantities and deployment dates before placing the project order.

For buyers and project managers

Custom optics and cabling requirements we can review

Custom does not always mean a new hardware design. Your project may need a carefully selected standard module, a supported cable variant or a combination of products documented against your network. Submit the required changes so feasibility, pricing and availability can be confirmed.

OEM-compatible optical modules

Request SFP, SFP+, SFP28 and QSFP-family optics against exact switch, router or adapter models. Include the vendor part number you are replacing and any software or diagnostic requirements.

DAC & AOC assemblies

Specify length, end types, protocol and endpoint coding for direct attach copper or active optical cables. Ask which lengths and breakout combinations are supported by the chosen hosts.

MPO / MTP fibre assemblies

Document fibre count, polarity, connector gender and polish for trunks or breakouts. Match the assembly to the actual optical lane mapping rather than connector appearance alone.

LC patching & fibre routes

Provide fibre grade, connector configuration, length and jacket requirements. Include bend constraints, patch-panel interfaces and any required channel-loss limit.

Labels & project identification

Request port identifiers, asset labels, cable-end references and packing-group details. Any special label or packaging option remains subject to feasibility and written approval.

Multi-site BOQs & spares

Group requirements by site, rack and deployment stage. Identify approved alternatives and replacement quantities so procurement can distinguish essential specifications from preferences.

Looking for SFP transceivers in Dubai, optical modules in the UAE or enterprise networking hardware for a specific rollout? Email your BOQ and ask GBICS to confirm suitable options for each line item.

Engineering reference

Start with the optical standard, then specify the configuration

These representative Ethernet interfaces illustrate the parameters needed in a custom solution enquiry. Listed reach depends on the selected module and complete fibre channel. They are not promises of inventory or universal compatibility.

MMF = multimode fibre; SMF = single-mode fibre. Wavelengths are nominal. Confirm exact part-number specifications, operating temperature and optical power limits. Vendor coding does not change the optical hardware's physical capabilities.

Breakout and mixed-end configurations

Specify both endpoints and the intended lane mapping. A breakout assembly requires support from the host port, firmware and receiving interfaces. Different vendor coding at opposite ends can be a requirement, but it does not guarantee that the link will operate.

Environmental and compliance requirements

State operating temperature, installation environment, jacket specification and any required documentation in the enquiry. Request evidence for the exact supplied SKU; avoid assuming that a product family name establishes a particular certification or fire-performance classification.

Custom configuration is a specification decision

Define what must match, what may vary and how the result will be accepted.

Mandatory

Protocol, endpoint support, optical standard, electrical interface, loss budget and essential installation constraints.

Configurable where available

Supported cable lengths, endpoint coding, approved labels and packing arrangements, subject to product feasibility.

Evidence required

Part-number datasheets, documented assumptions, available test records and agreed sample or acceptance checks.

Compatibility review matrix

This matrix shows the information needed to assess each product family. It is a planning tool, not a tested compatibility score or brand-level approval.

Request a compatibility review

Document the connection before approving the order

Use a clear approval baseline

Ask the quotation to identify the selected part numbers, mandatory specifications and any proposed deviations. For a changed cable drawing or label specification, keep the approved revision with the purchase order. Confirm whether samples or pilot quantities are available before scheduling a wider rollout.

From requirement to deployment

  1. Share your brief. Send the BOQ, port map, endpoint models, distances and deployment schedule.
  2. Review technical fit. Confirm optical standards, coding, cabling, environment and required documentation.
  3. Confirm feasibility and commercial terms. Review available options, minimum quantities, lead times, warranty and pricing.
  4. Approve the specification. Resolve alternatives and agree any drawings, label proofs or sample checks.
  5. Validate the supplied solution. Perform agreed checks before deployment and retain the approved part-number records.

These are recommended project stages. The quote should identify which review, sample and testing activities are included for your specific request.

Prepare your custom networking enquiry

  • Company, project name and UAE or regional delivery location
  • Equipment models, software versions and both endpoint port types
  • Data rate, protocol, optical standard and required link distance
  • Fibre grade, cable length, connectors, polarity and breakout details
  • Quantities, spare requirements and acceptable alternatives
  • Environmental requirements and mandatory compliance documents
  • Label text, packing instructions and drawings where applicable
  • Target delivery date and required acceptance checks

GBICS advertises UAE stock, same-day dispatch and lifetime warranty. Confirm the terms for each quoted item. Custom assemblies may have separate lead times, minimum quantities and approval requirements; do not apply stock dispatch expectations to an unconfirmed configuration.

Custom Solutions FAQs

What does a custom networking solution include?

It can combine suitable optical modules, cable assemblies, fibre patching and documented compatibility requirements into a project-specific bill of materials. Any non-standard length, coding, labelling or packaging request needs a feasibility review and written confirmation in the quote.

Can I request optics for different equipment vendors?

Yes. Send the exact model and software version for both endpoints, together with the required interface and speed. Coding requirements can differ at each end. Vendor coding alone does not prove electrical, optical or software compatibility.

Can I order custom-length DAC or AOC cables?

Submit the required length, end types, host models, protocol and quantities. Availability depends on the supported product family and supplier options. Maximum supported length, minimum order quantity and lead time must be confirmed before ordering.

What details are required for MPO or MTP cable assemblies?

Provide fibre type, fibre count, length, connector format, gender, polish, polarity and any breakout mapping. Include insertion-loss requirements, jacket requirements and endpoint module part numbers. MTP is a branded MPO connector implementation.

Can I request custom labels or packaging?

You can include label text, port identifiers, serial tracking, packaging and delivery-grouping requirements in your enquiry. GBICS should confirm which requests are feasible, any minimum quantities and the approval process before production or supply.

Can a custom-coded transceiver change speed or reach?

Coding does not by itself change the optical engine, signalling capability, supported protocol or physical reach. Select a hardware design that meets the link requirements, then confirm host coding and compatibility.

What are the minimum order quantity and lead time?

They depend on the product, quantity and requested changes. Ask for written confirmation of minimum quantities, sample availability, approval milestones and lead time. Stock dispatch messaging should not be assumed to apply to custom assemblies.

How do I request a custom solution quote?

Email store@gbics.ae with your BOQ, endpoint models, software versions, required speeds, distances, cable specifications, quantities and delivery location. Attach drawings or port maps if available and identify any mandatory acceptance tests.
