What optical speeds does GBICS support for AI data centres?

GBICS provides connectivity across multiple data rates including 25G, 100G, 200G, 400G and 800G, with next-generation architectures moving toward 1.6T.

What is the difference between DAC, AOC and optical transceivers?

DACs use copper and are typically suited to short, cost-efficient connections. AOCs use integrated optical transmission for longer, lightweight cable runs. Pluggable optical transceivers provide greater flexibility across fibre types, distances and architectures.

Can GBICS provide optics compatible with different network vendors?

GBICS supplies compatible optical connectivity for a broad range of network platforms. Compatibility should be confirmed against the exact equipment model and software environment before deployment.

Which is better for an AI cluster: 400G or 800G?
